HEAR THIS: SKIRTS

Dallas-based Alex Montenegro gave her project the name Skirts, and at some point along her path, Skirts became a band, inking with Double Double Whammy for their debut LP Great Big Wild Oak. For the first single “Always”, she masterminded a video, covering the angles right down to the animation, and it’s as evocative as the song itself.

In her own words: “‘Always’ is the first song I wrote for the album. It went through many different versions/lyrics/structures until it got to the finish point. It reminds me of driving late at night through the city being stuck at a light and deep in thought.”
