Paste Magazine Kills Print, Promises more Web

Paste Magazine has been an indie beacon for cool music and film reads since 2002. And it’s a punch in the gut to hear that they closed the print doors and 86′d their entire staff…somewhat suddenly. Despite a subscriber/fan base that is more loyal than a pack of Lassie’s, the print couldn’t sustain in a weak advertising economy. (Ya think?) Fortunately, the brand will continue to thrive as a web entity. (We wish them well). But maybe they should change their slogan. Seems like “Signs of Life in Music, Film & Culture” doesn’t have a pulse. At least in print.

UPDATED: Rachael Maddux, Associate Editor of Paste Magazine has written a follow-up regarding Paste and its closure.

The first concert I remember is Tiffany at the Concord Pavilion. Seriously.
