Sanders Bohlke has nailed the beautiful art of haunting vocals. His most recent release Ghost Boy is validation of this claim. Sanders Bohlke is a folk musician from Mississippi and his debut album was released in 2005. We can only guess his reasons for waiting seven years to release his sophomore effort, but after hearing the lead single “Ghost Boy,” these ponderings are immediately forgotten.

His smooth vocals envelope the listener in an eerie blanket of swirling sensations and seem to invoke the spirit of Sufjan Stevens. Coupled with toe tapping but not overbearing beats, Bohlke’s music commands a welcome mood that molds the environment, whatever it may be for the listener in a given moment, into something wholly more enjoyable.
