FROM THE NEWS NEST: We want Arcade Fire and more.
We here at the Owl heart previewing entire albums before we purchase them, and this week NPR has us in love with them as they are streaming Arcade Fire‘s highly anticipated new album The Suburbs. The band’s new album, which drops today, is super-gorgeous and intimate. We also heard a rumor that you can download the entire album on Amazon for only four bucks. You’re welcome.
Speaking of Arcade Fire (pictured), at the band’s Philadelphia show last night, Arcade Fire covered the recently deceased Jay Reatard‘s “Oh It’s Such A Shame.” The song, which can be seen here, instantly became a stadium anthem. What songs would you like to hear given the Arcade Fire treatment?
We’re so gleeful about LCD Soundsystem hitting the road this fall! Besides a stop at the Treasure Island Festival in October, which will surely have that whole island dancing all over the place, LCD Soundsystem will also be joined by Hot Chip and Sleigh Bells on tour. You L.A. folks are especially lucky: you get all three bands, in what’s sure to be one of the most frenetic shows OF ALL TIME.
