FROM THE NEWS NEST: Type O Negative frontman dies and more.
It’s always weird when someone who got the honored place of being featured on your desktop while scantily clad passes away. Type O Negative‘s Peter Steele (pictured) passed away last night of heart failure. He was 48. Though rumors had been circulating since last night about the frontman’s death, it was difficult to confirm since the same rumor had started in 2005 — that turned out to be a promotion for the band’s new album.
Sad news aside, and in way awesome news: Outkast has announced that they working on their first new material in four years. When interrogated about the new stuff by BBC Radio 1, Big Boi said, “That’s all top secret information right now. We can’t let people know what we’re doing. You better know that something is brewing.”
Wavves has wrapped up their latest album, and are setting out for a Canadian and U.S. (mainly east coast) tour. Frontman Nathan Williams has been performing with a couple members of Jay Reatard‘s former band, who quit the band a few months before Reatard passed away in January.
