FROM THE NEW NEST: Trent Reznor and wife start new band and more.
I hate Trent Reznor‘s wife ex-West Indian Girl singer Mariqueen Maandig (pictured) with nearly the same ferocity as I do David Bowie‘s wife Iman: simply because she’s super-hot and married to such a bad-ass musician. With that out of the way, we here at the Owl are really excited to see what Reznor and Maandig are collaborating on music-wise (i.e. not in the bedroom). The two have formed a new band called How to Destroy Angels, and we’re definitely digging from the few audio hints they’ve left us.
The Flaming Lips have canceled a couple of their upcoming festival appearances due to multi-instrumentalist Steven Drozd being hospitalized. Feel better soon!
Film critic Roger Ebert has made public his script for Who Killed Bambi?, the Sex Pistols‘ answer to the Beatles‘ A Hard Day’s Night. The movie never got off the ground, but funding was cut. The what-have-been raucous film is posted in its entirety on Ebert’s blog as a tribute to the late Malcolm McLaren, who managed the Sex Pistols.
