FROM THE NEWS NEST: Timbaland did not attempt suicide and more.

Tuesday night when Timbaland (pictured) disappeared after a reported theft over an expensive watch, police apparently listed it as a “possible suicide attempt.” Timbaland went on the air yesterday with Ryan Seacrest to deny the rumor: “[The theft] did happen, but it wasn’t a watch, it was something else… It’s people that’s close to you. So the only thing I did was take a drive to figure out how I was gonna handle it.”

The former model who appears on the cover of Vampire Weekend‘s breakout album Contra recently spoke out about her lawsuit against the band and the photographer who supposedly took the photo to Vanity Fair: “You start to see interviews from fans of the band, and they are like, ‘I would just be glad that my picture was on it.’ Well, not really. They are using it for their gain. Something is wrong here. It’s like, don’t just use my picture all over the place,” said Ann Kirsten Kennis.

Activists for Amnesty International were arrested outside of a U2 concert in Russia, the band’s first-ever stop in the country. Greenpeace Russia and U2′s ONE Campaign Against AIDS were also forced out by police, despite the organizations having the go-ahead from U2 management to signature-gather and hand out pamphlets.
