FROM THE NEWS NEST: The Dandy Warhols announce tour and more.
The Dandy Warhols, quirky indie rockers, will be coming to San Francisco Dec. 11 as a part of a 23-city tour. The Dandy Warhols (pictured) be headlining the Regency Center, and though we haven’t heard from these guys in a couple of years, any band that is tapped by David Bowie to open for him (Reality tour 2003) is worth seeing anytime.
Former Kinks frontman Ray Davies has finally revealed the artists with whom he’ll be working on a new album of collaborations titled See My Friends due out Nov. 1. Well, the man is definitely showing off one eclectic group of chums, considering he’s working with everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Billy Corgan to the late Alex Chilton. From what we hear of Davies and Metallica‘s version of “You Really Got Me,” we’re kind of scared.
Can we be as prolific as Radiohead that we toss out an entire album of material, please? According to drummer Phil Selway, the band is due back in the studio to record more material for their follow up to 2007′s In Rainbows, despite having finished recording a full album’s worth of songs! The band is “taking stock” of what they have, and may throw out the whole lot.
