FROM THE NEWS NEST: Snoop Dogg and Susan Boyle, WTF? and more.

April 12. 2010 | By Bernadette

It really doesn’t get a lot stranger than this, folks (not even when Elton John and Eminem were besties): according to Snoop Dogg, he and British sensation Susan Boyle will be going into the studio to record a duet. Says Snoop: “We’re going to get our minds together and figure out what we’re going to sing about. I’m down with that. There isn’t much I can’t do.”

Dancepunks LCD Soundsystem (pictured) are officially back on the map, playing their first show in three years last week. The show, which took place at Music Hall of Williamsburg in NYC, was sold out, and folks went ridiculous for LCD Soundsystem, who, according to BrooklynVegan, haven’t lost their edge. We can’t wait for their new album This Is Happening — check out the “white light, white heat” that is their Bowie-esque first single “Drunk Girls.”

Get ready to say farewell to Brit rockers Supergrass. After this summer’s farewell concerts, they’re calling it off, despite the fact that they still love each other. Jokingly calling it a “17-year-itch”, they’re at an end after six studio albums thanks to musical differences. Don’t hope to see ‘em in the states, though. All their shows will be in the U.K.
