FROM THE NEWS NEST: Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears tells gay youth ‘It gets better’ and more.
Scissor Sisters‘ Jake Shears (pictured second from left) has joined the number of celebrities and musicians who have been contributing YouTube videos to Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” Project, which was created after a 15-year-old teen committed suicide as a result of gay bullying. Shears talked about his own experiences with bullying for being gay and admitted that he channels his feelings on stage. “I made a career out of my rage. I turned it into a job,” said Shears.
We mentioned yesterday in FTNN about the dude who’s trying to break up Weezer. Well, in an interview with The New York Times, James Burns mentioned that he’s getting death threats from Weezer die-hards. “Some people have told me they wish I would get AIDS. This whole campaign, I fully admit that it’s silly,” said Burns. WTF, Weezer fans?!
