FROM THE NEWS NEST: Ryan Adams takes on Dio and more.
According to Ryan Adams (pictured), after the passing of metal god Ronnie James Dio, “11 new solo tunes came out of nowhere.” Acoustic jams inspired by Dio, the tunes will hopefully be released for mass consumption soon.
R&B musician Chris Brown, maybe more infamously known for the volatile ending of his relationship with pop princess Rihanna, has been denied admission to the UK for his tour. Officials released a statement in response to the denied work visa, which has postponed any tour plans: “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offense. Public safety is one of our primary concerns … Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits.”
Jive Records seems to be keeping one of our favorite Hotlanta (sorry, can’t help saying it!) duos from being together! Outkast‘s Big Boi is releasing Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty with Def Jam in July, since according to Big Boi, Jive didn’t know what to do with the album. Jive thinks that any Big Boi and Andre 3000 song an Outkast song, and they’re blocking any chance for this kids to collaborate on Big Boi’s solo album. Grr!
