No fears, indie lovers of Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head (pictured)! They’re not going away forever, just saying goodbye to their namesake. The Seattle band has abandoned their moniker and has changed their name to Brite Futures (an optimistic name post-breakup, we say). Please, for all that is good, watch their YouTube video where they tell Portman.
Parliament/Funkadelic guitarist Garry Shider has passed away at the age of 56 after a battle with brain and lung cancer. Co-writer of P-Funk staples like “Atomic Dog” and “Cosmic Slop,” Shider was a member of the band since 1972.
Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie has been indicted for first-degree murder in Baton Rouge. The rapper, who is currently in jail for parole violation, may be facing the death penalty for the murder of a 35-year-old man in October. Two other men were also indicted on similar charges.
