FROM THE NEWS NEST: New music videos from Katy Perry, MGMT and more.

June 16. 2010 | By Bernadette

The perfect way in our minds to get through a Wednesday is skiving off work to watch a couple of music videos! This week Katy Perry (pictured) released a sweet confection of a video for a summer hit “California Gurls.” She wears a lot of cotton candy-colored wigs while fighting off a small army of gummy bears and lounging on clouds. And how jealous are we of Snoop Dogg and his cupcake-print pimp suit?

Meanwhile MGMT has debuted a video for “It’s Working,” which strikes us as a Wes Anderson-styled film on acid. It’s so surreal, and features this idea-factory that ends up eating our male duo. The song is pretty cool, too.

And now for some actual news, so this isn’t all Wednesday fluff, Interpol is returning to its roots for their next album by making a return to Matador Records, who had released the New York band’s first two albums. Their last album, 2007′s Our Love to Admire, was released on Capitol Records.
