FROM THE NEWS NEST: New LP from Radiohead this year and more.

Radiohead (pictured) guitarist Ed O’Brien said in an interview with BBC 6 Sunday that the band is currently in studio finishing up their eighth album. Though there’s no definite release date as of yet, O’Brien seems to think that the album may drop before 2010 ends. We know what we’ll be asking for for the holidays!

So this is totally cliche, but we’re feeling good vibrations at this news: in honor of the Beach Boys‘ 50th anniversary, the not-so-youthful boys may be reuniting soon with Brian Wilson for writing and recording, says Mike Love. Wilson, who infamously left the group to deal with addiction and mental health issues, has been at work on an unfinished Gershwin project.

Speaking of more new tunes, the legendary Leonard Cohen is currently at work on his first studio album in six years. He is slated to release the album early next year, Cohen announced when he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York this weekend.
