New music from the Beastie Boys (pictured) has been on the back burner since Adam Yauch announced that he had cancer, but things must definitely be looking up for the guys since Mike D‘s wife Tamra Davis revealed on her blog last week that the Beastie Boys will be releasing a new album in the spring of 2011. The new album is a follow up to their delayed album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, which still has no word as to when it will be released.
The Glastonbury Festival is set to take its first break in 2012 since 2006, due to the fact that the Olympics will be hogging all of the porta-potties. Not only that, but the 600-person police force that usually patrols one of England’s largest music festivals will also be needed for the Olympics.
Underground hip-hop artist Eyedea, born Micheal Larsen, of Eyedea & Abilities died yesterday at the age of 28. No word on cause of death. The Minneapolis rapper’s mother has set up a memorial page on Facebook.
