FROM THE NEWS NEST: Neon Indian announces tour and more.

July 30. 2010 | By Bernadette

Neon Indian (pictured) has announced that they will be embarking on a U.S. tour this fall, hitting San Francisco’s Mezzanine Sept. 30. Joining the chillwave poster kids on tour will be Prefuse 73 as well as the ever-cute Miniature Tigers.

The surviving members of ’80s rock band the Cars seem to be chattering about reuniting for the first time in 27 years. Ric Ocasek, Greg Hawkes, David Robinson and Elliot Easton posted a photo to Facebook of them in a Boston studio, but there’s no official word on if this is going down… or if anybody is clamoring for it.

Take this with a grain of salt, considering that the main source is, well, “a source,” but Madonna may be auditioning dancers for a new “hip-hop” tour. Madonna supposedly wants to center her performances on her New York City roots, if the rumors are true. This could definitely be interesting.
