There was a rumor going on around the internet that MGMT (pictured) drummer Will Berman left the stage at a Manchester show this weekend after piss was thrown on him from the audience. Not true, the band’s co-leader Andrew VanWyngarden said in a statement: “As we understand, thrown cups of beer are a sign of affection over here, whereas thrown bottles of urine mean the opposite. So, thank you Manchester for your affection.”
In other news from England, Pete Doherty has officially been charged with cocaine possession from an incident in January where filmmaker Robin Whitehead, 27, died from a suspected overdose. Whitehead was making a documentary on Doherty and his former band The Libertines.
Meanwhile, Kanye West is punishing the internet this week. After someone leaked an unfinished track of West and Bon Iver, West canceled this week’s edition of G.O.O.D. Friday, his weekly free download series. But in other awesome news, Yeezy’s new album finally has a release date! He will be dropping his fifth studio album Nov. 22.
