FROM THE NEWS NEST: Butterfly Bones to open for La Roux and more.

April 13. 2010 | By Bernadette

Seems like the boys from Butterfly Bones (pictured) are beginning one of those really awesome weeks: we’ve heard from the San Francisco locals that they will be opening at the Fillmore Wednesday for synthpop duo La Roux, a show that has been sold out for some time. And on Friday you can catch them opening for Swedes Love Is All at Rickshaw Stop.

For you fans of Taking Back Sunday, the pop-punkers will be performing for the first time with their original lineup in seven years. “I never would have imagined that this group of people reuniting would be possible,” returning guitarist John  Nolan told SPIN. “There’s a shared excitement and enthusiasm within this group that I haven’t experienced since the early days of the band.” They are planning a full tour.

It’s come out pretty recently that former Box Tops and Big Star frontman Alex Chilton, who passed away last month after a heart attack at the age of 59, hadn’t had health insurance. According to his wife, though Chilton had experienced shortness of breath up to a week before, he didn’t consult a physician due to his lack of health insurance.
