FROM THE NEWS NEST: MGMT releases new zany video and more.

MGMT released their video for “Flash Delirium” and delirium is definitely apropos. Dancing aging socialites, creepy little ventriloquist dummies and it just devolves into an acid trip from there. We love the Rocky Horror-esqueness of it, shot with the care of Wes Anderson (think The Royal Tenenbaums). It’s funny that the boys of MGMT don’t want to be pop stars, as we reported last week, considering that’s the kind of money that fuels their special brand of insanity. Just sayin’.

Soundset Festival, the biggest indie rap festival, will be taking place May 30 in Shakopee, MN, and you’re not going to want to miss this just announced line-up: Atmosphere (pictured), Method Man & Redman, Brother Ali, Yelawolf and so many more. Tickets for the fest, which will feature 40 artists on two stages, as well as b-boy battles and skateboarding demos, go on sale Friday, April 2. Sounds like one hell of a reason to travel to the Midwest.

Returning to the stage for the first time since 2008 and since her brother died last year, Janet Jackson has been named the headliner of the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. The festival takes place July 2.
