FROM THE NEWS NEST: Check Out The Rock Make Street Festival This Saturday

September 15. 2011 | By Katie

I'm a sucker for street festivals. How could I not be? They're like the lovechildren of a carnival and a block party. But even as most street festivals go, Saturday's Rock Make Street Festival seems especially cool: it's sponsored by everyone from Lagunitas IPA to Good Vibrations and features some excellent local bands, food, and art. Located on Treat Ave. and 18th St. in the Mission, the festival will have two stages of music, with performances from bands like Phantom Kick, Bird

s and Batteries, and the SF Rock Project's House Band. It's organized by The Bay Bridged, Tartufi (who will also be performing), and fabric store Cookie and the Dude.

Grab something off a food truck, peruse the crafts, and check out done awesome music. All day (well, noon to 7pm) and all for free. Oh, and there's a bounce house. Could it get any better?!
