HEAR THIS: Airhead

Rob McAndrews takes a break from releasing electronic tunes with longtime friend, James Blake, to bring us his first solo record, For Years, as Airhead. The album, released by R&S Records, features a range of sounds and collaborators. From dreamy “Callow” featuring Catherine Okada to pulsing “Fault Line,” Airhead leaves no stone unturned.

Even though he has already found musical success as the guitarist in Blake’s band, Airhead takes McAndrews’ artistic genius to another level. Start with “Autumn” featuring rising electronica artist Andrea Balency. Grab a blanket, a mug of tea, and a dream of cold weather. But don’t get too comfortable. The beauty of Airhead’s music is that each song embraces a unique sound.
