Aquarium Drunkard offers Ram on L.A.
Our music blogging pals, Aquarium Drunkard, fighting the good fight in the vast, smog-filled hole of L.A. have put together a cover-compilation featuring 11 of L.A.’s favorite bands. Ram on L.A. was released as a high-quality 320kbs MP3 digital download via AD’s label, Autumn Tone Records, and features bands like Earlimart, Le Switch, and Radar Bros. In 2008, AD’s founder, Justin Gage, set out on a music mission to create a compilation of artists and music that defined his hometown’s eclectic + sprawling music scene. Gage stumbled upon a unifying theme based on Paul McCartney’s 1971 solo album, RAM.
“As records tend to do, a revisited appreciation of Paul McCartney’s 1971 solo album, RAM, had begun to see a resurgence of sorts within a number of local Eastside artists, coming up in conversations and on the turntables of various house parties.” -Justin Gage
Listeners are encouraged to make donations to No More Landmines, the fantastic cause that – helps and empowers communities around the world by removing the threat of landmines and unexploded weapons… A cause championed by Sir Paul McCartney himself. Donate here.
