San Francisco-based Birds & Batteries are about to embark on a short West Coast tour with Peter Wolf Crier, which brings the band to Cafe du Nord on November 4th – just a hop, skip, and a jump away from their very own backyard. If you’re not familiar with Birds & Batteries, just sit for a moment and ponder the band’s name, and therein lies the answer to the question on the tip of your tongue. The band is the perfect blend of organic folk with an electo-pop twist. If Birds & Batteries were food, they would be the gastronomic equivalent of yummy french fries dipped in a deliciously rich milkshake. While it may be difficult to see how the individual components go together, once you actually experience them melded as one, the result is irresistible and leaves you craving more.

It’s been more than a year since the release of Panorama, but we’ve heard through the grapevine that they’re on the brink of completing a new LP and possibly a new EP. Knowing how meticulous frontman Mike Sempert is in his songwriting, producing, and arranging processes, Birds & Batteries‘ next album is sure to provide a sonic feast for your ears. Catch them at Cafe du Nord on November 4th doing what they do best, and keep your fingers crossed for a little preview of what’s to come.
