FREELOADER FRIDAY: New MP3s — The Almost Fall But We Wish It Wasn’t Edition
Fall is approaching and that sucks. You’re not excited about it and neither are we. Instead of getting all angry at the seasons, just download some new music and have a great weekend!
The John Steel Singers write songs that will throw you back to a time when a simple hook was everything. Check out the song “Overpass” to see what we mean.
San Cisco recently put together this sexy video for “Girls Do Cry” and our eyes really couldn’t help themselves. Who doesn’t wanna see a bunch of ladies jumping around in their underroos? Contrary to what you may think, the band is from Fremantle, WA – nowhere near the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble is made up of the 3 gentlemen above and then another 10 whole people. Their massive collective of music is somewhat mathematic and forms a busy, yet easy listening experience from Germany.

Gross Magic is the moniker of UK based Sam McGarrigle that will be releasing his debut EP come October 11th. Check out his dark and hopeful track “Sweetest Touch.”

Garrett Pierce is also releasing a debut album Everybody Breaks on October 18th, but you can catch him live at the Hemlock Tavern on the 25th if heartfelt singer-songwriters are your thing.
Zoe Boekbinder has one of those memorable female voices that is enchanting. Her new album Dating Specimens will be out on October 5th and San Franciscans can check out her release show at VIRACOCHA on the same date.
Los Angeles is home to many rock bands, so it’s nice to hear someone finally tone down the noise and deliver a vocal and lyric-focused album. Earlier this week Vanish Valley released their debut album, a collection of songs that seem more like diary entries than poems.
Thanks for tuning into another post of Freeloader Friday. If you have some music you’d like to share with us, please email dustin (at) theowlmag (dot) com. We’ll give it a spin! Promise.
