HEAR THIS: Elohim

May 16. 2017 | By Dustin Ragucos

Elohim might be hidden in plain sight, but her electro-pop doesn’t have to be. “Hallucinating,” the LA artist’s most lax track, takes you on its casual trip almost making you believe that you have the munchies. The tone she takes in her vocals is gentle, yet there is something mean and sharp behind her electronics that wavers in and out of control (“Skinny Legs”, “Xanax”). When she does unleash her more spiky side, she brings out a rhythm akin to Lorde (“Bridge and the Wall”).

Elohim might be the kind of individual who keeps her secrets hidden deep, showing herself as a flower with a serpent around it. The future will tell. For now, chill out with “Hallucinating” on repeat.
