All the way from Selkirk, Scotland, Frightened Rabbit proved that they’ve grown out of the shyness from which their name originated.

Fans lined up extra early for the sold-out show, affording them the chance to catch Philadelphia’s arresting Arc in Round. Their crunchy-guitar-tinged shoegaze breathed a life into the Troubadour to get the show going.

Before we knew it, the boys from Selkirk took to the stage, the crowd poised and ready to spill back the lovelorn and heartbroken lyrics of Frightened Rabbit. However, there wasn’t even the slightest hint of bitterness within the crowd. Instead, the adoring audience bopped along and swayed as the band did the same with smiles plastered across their bearded Scottish mugs.

Several fans were not too shy or proud to expel their love for the band. One such fellow yelled out that his girlfriend had just broken up with him and that she was at the show as well. Frontman Scott Hutchison commented that the following song was going to kill him, as the band launched into their heart wrenching “Backwards Walk.”
