TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 10/31/19 Edition

October 31. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

Mixing up both new & old and dark & darker, this week’s Tracks salutes that most wonderful time of the year: Halloween. No better place to start than The Damned, with new single “Black Is The Night”, the title track to their definitive anthology. Taking haunting to the next level, “Ghosteen” is the slow-burning title track of the latest from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. If you’ve yet to succumb to the wonder that is Sir Babygirl, there’s little better place to start than “Haunted House”. FYI West Coasters, keep an eye peeled for upcoming dates: 11/7 at the Rickshaw Stop, SF and 11/8 at the Moroccan Lounge in LA.

Wrapping up our tribute to Halloween, it’s two classics from 1982 that both roll by that name: First, the Dream Syndicate from The Days of Wine and Roses, and then we bring it all back home to the Bay Area for the Dead Kennedys, from Plastic Surgery Disasters.
