FREE MP3: Miniature Tigers “Gold Skull”
2010 – the year of the second album, and Miniature Tigers will be falling in line with their sophomore album, Fortress (out July 27 on Modern Art Records). The endearingly quirky indie pop group has been bitten by the recent tsunami of chill wave, with the first single “Gold Skull” produced by Neon Indian. It stems from an all-nighter which front-man Charlie Brand describes as an unforgettable experience, “the sun coming up and everyone in the room singing along. [Drummer] Rick [Schaier] was almost asleep on the floor as he did harmonies.” The track has looping synths and a laid back vibe, but doesn’t stray far from the upbeat Mini T’s sound we’ve grown accustomed to.
