With four separate stages set up throughout Shoreline we know we’ll be hustling back and forth to catch the likes of Souls of Mischief, Doom, Gza, Black Star, Nas, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. Did we mention they will be performing albums in their entirety? Let us know who you’re looking forward to seeing this year at Rock the Bells and why for your chance to be there…for free…on us.

I am so excited to see the, as of yet unannounced, bands which may, or may not, play the show. I am also excited to be surprised by any surprise performanced which may, or may not, surprise me during the show.
The GZA will no doubt leave all the young grasshopper MCs with bruises, the likes of which have not been seen since Bruce Lee stopped kicking angels in heaven.
DOOM, because he changed my life. Black Star, because that was the first hip hop record i ever listened to as a kid, also changed my life. Fashawn, because hes from my hometown, and hes one great mc. Erykah Badu, because she's probably the most talented soul singer of our time. Nas, because he's so ILL, and willl be performing my favorite album ILLMATIC. And last but not least. Ghostface + Raekwon, these doods together are gonna blow stuff up.
I’m really looking forward to Mob Deep because they were one of the first hip hop groups that i listened to when i moved here from Germany. They’re so influential and i was happy to see them have a come-back with 50 cent.
Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu sang about the pains and power of being a women, and growing up with their stories made me feel things in my then little child's heart I never knew existed as a human.
I want to see slaughterhouse. They have 3 of my fav emcees (joell Ortiz, crooked I. Royce da 5’9) I’ve never seen them live as a group or alone. I’ve been a fan of crooked I sine the good old “wake up show” days. He was always a guest and would spit some of the sickest rhymes I’ve ever heard. I was always anticipating his death row records debut, and thought it was lame that it remains unreleased. Same goes with joell Ortiz, had been telling a lot of people about him. Predicting his aftermath debut would be one of the greatest hip hop albums ever. Then that was never released. It was really hard to pick one act, I’m a fan of the majority of the line up. If you could hook me up and reignite my love for hip hop I’d really appreciate it.
The infamous still sounds so current and relevant, but Curren$y should be great too!
Any opportunity to see Lauryn Hill is magical. Along with the energy of Hip Hops most conscious artists, the vibes from Common, Raekwon, Curren$y, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, the entire program. Rock The Bells is a paramount of the realness of hip-hop; conglomerated in one venue to see each amazing artist individually yet have the collective force of these artists feeding off of each other with their performances, especially sonce they are all fans of one another. As a true hiphop fan all of these artists have real messages through their lyrics and music, along with the opportunity to see newer artists coming on to the scene like Mac Miller and Krit. Being from Hawaii, I have never experienced a hip hop concert of this extravagant size and pleeeeeeeease let me have this opportunity! Mahalo
I just really wanna represent for all the strong level headed women out there as I dance and sing along to Lauryn Hill.
I am very excited to see Nas, Immortal Technique, Common, Black Star, Souls of Mischief, Blu/Fashawn/Exile, Cypress Hill, Slaughterhouse and Killah Priest because they each represent a different side of Hip-Hop. They're also great performers and for nothing in the world I'd miss them. Plus, their music has made a big impact in my life and hopefully I'll be at rock the bells thanks to you guys.
One Love!
