Huntington Beach-based indie rock band Moostache is a study in contrast. They put together lively, upbeat songs that also feature sometimes-gloomy lyrics. The result: you get melancholies in droves. Check them out this summer, and let your mood determine how closely you listen to their music. “Everything As It Was,” a free download on Bandcamp, is a great jumping-off point. It’s a hoppin’ tune that’s really about sunnier days in the past. These three brothers – and one other dude – released Anything, Alone, their debut LP this spring.
