Video: Live 105 Final 5 Local Showcase

‘Battle of the Bands’ sounds so dangerous, doesn’t it? Bands fight to the death (not really) in a ‘Mad Max-like’ setting (again, not really) with nothing but their instruments. In this case, they weren’t fighting for oil, like our Aussie friend Mel was, but rather for the chance to share the stage with bands like The Killers and Modest Mouse for this year’s Live 105 “Not So Silent Night” and of course, a sweet recording session at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts. Five bands, voted in by fans via iMeem, slugged it out at Cafe du Nord, while several music industry pros judged them like Simon and Paula. Kudos to Love Like Fire, Panda, The Morning Benders and Thriving Ivory for making it so far. And congrats to this year’s ‘Final 5′ winner: Cold Hot Crash.
