HEAR THIS: GALORE

April 29. 2020 | By Wayne Jessup

Galore is one of the best kept secrets in the Bay Area; their demo tapes are a recurring favorite in the Nest rotation, so we’re over the moon to finally share the news of their debut full-length, produced by Sonny Smith (Sonny and the Sunsets), and out on his own Rocks In Your Head Records. All the demo tracks survive, joined by six more slabs of goodness. Inspired by the one and only Lydia Lunch, the band have rolled out a video for “Lydia” that premiered yesterday with our good friends at BFF.FM.

Galore’s self-titled debut will be out on June 1st. A refurbished “Come Around” is reflective of the demo tracks’ transitions: cleaned up, but retaining their scrappy charm. Saving the best for last, the double-shot of “Deja Vu”, a wistful standout tapping a Galaxie 500 vibe, and “Silence”, closing out the proceedings on a note of triumphant jangle. “Lydia” and “Lemon Tea” are available for listening below.
