Naturally, comparisons to Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes abound. Yes they look like Urban Outfitters hippies and have those smiley, sun-drenched harmonies that might come from some Haight Street busking band. But don’t pigeonhole this LA band yet. Arcade Fire might be more apropos, particularly on “St. Croix”… (I can’t get enough of this song). ’80s nostalgia, ambient guitars and Caribbean surf rhythms, plus sensual pop lyrics, “You bring the ocean, I bring the motion.” I say it’s time to get wet.
