Seattle band Cataldo offers something rare: an album perfect for being dumped and for everything else too. Prison Boxing stands without the common melodramatic lyrics written post-breakup, but instead creates an honest and relatable account of loss. Lead singer Eric Anderson offers a sound similar to Rogue Wave, but with more folk and less of the drumbeat amphitheatre quality in many of Zach Rogue‘s hits.

Anderson tells a story throughout the album: each track weaving together varying aspects of loss, whether it is pining for the past or those final words you utter before someone walks out the door. Catlados’ melodies and the simple words accompanying them, create a natural, effortless harmony. Listen to Prison Boxing and you won’t be able to keep yourself from being carried by the sway:
