“Whistleblower” is the brand new single out last week from Blood Lemon’s forthcoming self-titled debut, due out 4/23. The loose groove showcases the more melodic side of the group, adding to previous singles “Black Capped Cry”, which matches an eco-lament with band’s blood and thunder, and the kinetic charge of “Burned”, that gives way to a soaring coda.

The Boise trio, Lisa Simpson, Melanie Radford, and Lindsey Lloyd, stealthily deploy their classical training to keep the arrangements tight, while timely lyrical themes and heart-felt performances nail it down.

Blood Lemon lay out their stall from the get-go, kicking off the LP with “Bruise”, and not looking back. Other highlights include “Cut” and the majestic “The Stone Castle”, before finishing up strong with the one-two punch of “One More Time” and the anthemic “Leave The Gaslight On”.
