VIDEO: Introducing Geographer

San Francisco’s own Geographer (of the Tricycle Records roster) met us in the heart of SOMA recently to talk plans revolving around the release of their second album, Animal Shapes.

It features the infectious, video game-esque “Kites;” a song comprised of whimsical electronic blips and beeps that are thrown against a thunderstorm of drums and synthesizers. Mike and Brian (Nate was coaching a woman’s Rugby game… AWESOME) divulged plans for a “Kites” music video (we can’t wait!) and spoke about the inspirations and influences that led to a more electronic-sounding album. They’ll be opening for Atlas Sound (Holy shitballs) at this year’s 2010 Noise Pop Festival. Two tracks from the upcoming Animal Shapes(drops March), can be heard in the video.
