On the heady Saturday night of Noise Pop (which featured other shows headlined by DIIV, Yacht and Toro y Moi), perhaps the most-overlook-but-still-sweaty-packed award goes to the night of dance-happy, dreamy surf-pop headlined by SF fixtures Sonny & The Sunsets at Bottom of the Hill. From the moment Australia’s Dune Rats took the stage at 9pm, to the last of Sonny Smith’s encores well after midnight, it was a non-stop party. One of those nights of music that makes you realize in the midst
of a drunken rock music mosh pit, this is how it should always be.
