Okkervil River’s video for “Your Past Life As a Blast” is the best kind of nostalgia. Will Sheff used his dad’s own home videos, creating a personal yet remarkably universal montage. Though the Super 8 recordings reflect one family’s memories, Sheff is right to note that it’s about more than that: it’s “about moms and dads and kids, and how it felt.”
