YOU GOTTA SEE THIS: “The Lawn” by ExDetectives

ExDetectives aka Faris McReynolds is a Los Angeles based one-man band, and that seems somewhat evident in the video for “The Lawn,” the first single from his debut album Take My Forever. Directed by Larisa Laivins, it’s a sunny, ambling, roam through LA – optimistic, even, as the perspective and view is always from the ground looking up. The song itself is a guitar-driven swirl of sound that’s appreciably loud, but never overwhelming. And if you feel moments of Dinosaur Jr. or the Replacements then – hey – you’ve been paying attention in class during Rock and Roll 101.
