TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 9/17/2020 Edition

September 17. 2020 | By Wayne Jessup

Kicking off this edition of Tracks, it’s the Oakland duo Lunchbox, with the propulsive delight “Gary of the Academy”, off of their forthcoming LP After School Special, out 10/30 on Slumberland. If you’re new to the Lunchbox game, a world of sonic wonders awaits on their Bandcamp.

Peach Kelli Pop mastermind Allie Hanlon is back with “Cut Me Off”, from the Long Beach-based quartet’s new EP Lucky Star, out 10/9 on Lauren Records. “Warwick” marks the return of New Zealand legends The Bats, still jangly after all these years, and representing in style with upcoming LP Foothills, out 11/13 on Flying Nun.

“When The Lights Go Out” showcases the UK-based Bugeye. Their latest release is Ready Steady Bang on The Reckless Yes. Despite their members being scattered across the East Coast, there’s a purpose when Meet Me At The Altar come together, as evidenced on their latest single “The Garden”.
