TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 5/14/20 Edition

May 14. 2020 | By Wayne Jessup

SF-based Zelma Stone is back with a new EP Dreamland, getting this week’s Tracks started with the title track, turning old family home movie footage into a heart-tugging video tribute to her older brother, who passed when they were teenagers, and had given her her first guitar lessons.

With a new LP Find The Sun due out 9/18, Deradoorian is making moves. (Label-wise, from Anticon to Anti, it should be noted). “Monk’s Robes” is our track of choice. Thao With The Get Down Stay Down sum up the quarantine situation with “Phenom”, off of their first LP in five years, Temple, out tomorrow on Ribbon Music.

Woods is back with “Where Do You Go When You Dream”, from their new LP, Strange To Explain, out next week on their own Woodsist label. Closing out the proceedings this time, Denmark’s Moon Panda tap into a Tarantino vibe with “Rick F***in Dalton” from their March EP Make Well on Fierce Panda Records.
