TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 4/28/2022 Edition

April 28. 2022 | By Wayne Jessup

Getting this week’s Tracks out of the blocks with “Burnout!”, the new single from BlushhShab Ferdowsi follows up her stunning debut RIP Apathy with the forthcoming C’est La Vie, out tomorrow on Literal Gold Records, and punctuates a move to Paris with what is likely her only US show for the foreseeable future, an LP release gig at Baader House in LA on 4/29. Nest favorite Harkin is back with “A New Day”, the just-released second single from her new LP Honeymoon Suite, due out 6/17 on Hand Mirror. It follows the equally enchanting “Body Clock”, settings high bar for Katie Harkin’s forthcoming project.

Moving over to the UK, “SST” is the beguiling debut single from Jemima Coulter. The track is full of left turns, never quite settling until it blossoms into an unforeseen coda, and that’s merely the lead track of their upcoming LP Grace After A Party, out 7/29 on Hand In Hive. Bringing this week to a satisfying close, “Bad Reasons” is the new single from LA’s ASHRR, out now on First Second. The trio, (Josh CharlesEthan Allen, and Steven David), unleashed their space disco concoction upon the unsuspecting with their 2019 debut Oscillator, before returning to action with their January single “Sunshine Low”.
