HEAR THIS: Harriet

Harriet is the new musical endeavor of the handsome singer/songwriter, Alex Casnoff. The former Dawes member has branched out to secure his own path in Americana-soul songwriting with the self-released debut EP, Tell The Right Story (released January 31, 2012). Casnoff along with guitarist Adam Gunther, bassist Aaron Folb, and drummer Henry Kwapis breathe life into classic storytelling with a blend of folk rock and romantic electronic beats.

“Sign” and “Don’t Fight The Feeling” take the listener on a journey of passionate song and thoughtful lyrics without sounding overbearing or heavy-hearted. “I Slept With All Your Mothers” offers a power ballad that echoes with zeal and determination.

Harriet performs at this year’s SXSW and will probably garner the attention of music lovers seeking a delightful change of pace.
