TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 11/14/19 Edition

November 14. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

This week on Tracks: Oakland’s Blues Lawyer is back with “It’s Not Up To You”, from their new LP, Something Different, just out last week on Mt.St.Mtn. Checking in with Albany, NY, Laveda has just released their third single “If Only (You Said No)”, and it merely confirms how much we’re waiting for a full-length.

Our Girl (Brighton, UK) is set to make a splash on their very first US headline dates, including the Soda Bar in San Diego on 11/21 and the Bootleg Theater in LA on 11/22, which will dwell heavily on their most recent LP, Stranger Today from 8/18 on Canniibal Hymns. Check out their Elliott Smith cover of “Coast to Coast”, courtesy of Close Encounter Club.

“Salary Man” by Kiwi Jr is keeping us hopping at the Nest.  Football Money is the Toronto outfit’s latest, available now in Canada on Mint Records, out down here on 1/17/20. Finishing up this week, it’s Fea from San Antonio, Texas. “Let Me Down” is from their 2nd LP No Novelties, out this week on Blackheart Records and produced by the one and only Alice Bag.
