Cold, rainy days can often warrant the playing of your favorite somber songs while warm weather begs for road-trip ready sing alongs. Slowdim, a Boston band of four teetering between dream pop and garage rock, does both well. While the riffs in “Winter’s Gun” support the former, the lyrics sneak in hope for the latter: “Winter’s gun is gone again, proof that you don’t need medicine.”

“Up Stream” and “Laid Flat” on the other hand, exude summer rotation. Case in point: the perfectly wielded male/female do’s and oh’s of these tracks that make them undeniably catchy. No matter what time of the year it is, Slowdim’s self-titled debut contains everything you need for your seasonally synced playlists.
