Skye Edwards is known for being the frontwoman for British trip-hop act Morcheeba, with some labeling her as the genre’s queen. Although she has rejoined the band, her solo venture began when she left in 2003

with Back To Now being the latest release. It shows that she hasn’t departed far from trip-hop elements while incorporating hints of soul, pop, and electronica, making a product that is more commercial in appeal. As always, the real draw is Edwards’ stout, sultry voice that is paired with a solid pop structure to create a danceable-yet-mellow setting to immerse you in. Skye has certainly discerned herself to warrant more attention as a solo artist with this solid record.
