There is a silent but palpable anger in Tired Lion. It is not the kind that makes you punch random folk on the sidewalk. This feeling instead brings one to throw buckets of paint at plain walls and shoot dozens of pebbles into lakes. This Perth group are the rulers of the weekend. Their grunge can blend pretty melodies along ugly distortion, showing their exhausted, yet lovable stride (“Are You Listening… Listener?”). The band’s vocals are reminiscent of Metric, except with a rougher flair (“I Don’t Think You Like Me”). And with that flair, they give much needed reality checks (“Not My Friends”). Join the pride and jam along with Tired Lion.
