HEAR THIS: The Lumineers

A few weeks ago while absent-mindedly flipping through channels, I stumbled upon The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey.” It was being used as background music on some show I can’t even remember. I’m glad I stopped long enough to hear the song. From the first “ho” I was pretty much hooked. I then proceeded to devour everything I could find about the band. Born out of tragic circumstances and developed over time with loving care and dedication. The Lumineers’ sound is deeply rooted in folky deliciousness and soulful, heartfelt simple lyrics. Made up of front man Wesley Schultz, childhood pal Jeremiah Fraites, and classically trained cellist Neyla Pekarek, The Lumineers have been paying their dues for years. It’s high time for them to collect their well deserved, piece of Americana pie. Watch out for their self-titled debut LP coming out in March 2012 and catch them LIVE on tour now.
