Brad and Andrew Barr were like any other brothers growing up. To harness some of that boyish charm, their parents wisely invested in a pair of boxing gloves for each of them. The boys took full advantage of this new opportunity to let out frustrations and emotions. Their relationship flourished. When the boxing gloves were reduced to rags, the boys turned to music. They taught themselves how to play on homemade instruments and set off across North America on tour. The origins of this band may lead one to believe that they are masters of grunge or metal, however, quite the opposite is true. Their sound is soothing and folky. Their writing is consummate. These days, Sarah Page and Andres Vial round out the quartet, completing the overall feel of what The Barr Brothers are all about.
