HEAR THIS: Tall Ships

August 13. 2012 | By Jon Allmond

While post punk may have faded a bit ever since its beginning in the late ’70s, groups like Interpol, British Sea Power, and various others have contributed to its revival and helped to keep it going strong. Well now you can add Brighton’s three-piece, Tall Ships, to that list.

While Tall Ships didn’t start out immersed in post-punk nostalgia, the group has recently changed direction and done it extremely well. Their debut album Everything Touching is set to drop in October and with “Gallop,” the first single off the LP, it’s sure to be one hell of a ride. The track opens with pounding percussion and sensational rhythms, and it doesn’t let up until the moment it’s over. Our little nest here can’t wait to hear more from Tall Ships and you can hear exactly why by streaming “Gallop” below.
